Our Approach

At Yuri Method, we explore STEM in our specialized lab to make learning exciting and hands-on. We challenge students with advanced topics, believing that active experimentation helps them learn best. This approach boosts their academic success and sparks a lifelong love for discovery. Our curriculum goes beyond traditional education, creating a deep connection to the world of science.

The Origins of "The Yuri Method"

Inspired by her grandfather Yuri, a brilliant teacher and mathematician, Tami always believed in learning by doing and seeing things in action. Her love for teaching stood out throughout her studies, earning her the Excellence in Teaching award in 2019.

The most special part of her journey was leading a learning pod during the 2020-2021 pandemic, making learning come alive for her students. The Yuri Method, born from these experiences, is Tami's way of sharing this joy of learning with more students, helping them grow in confidence, curiosity, and creativity.

Education

With a bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neuroscience and a master’s in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, Tami Gilderman’s background is both diverse and rich. Her studies covered fields like physiology, neurobiology, chemistry, microbiology, and biophysics which all contribute to Yuri Method’s accessible and engaging approach to science.

Research

As a published author, Tami has contributed to important topics, from genetic engineering and cancer resistance to biotechnology. This scientific expertise anchors the Yuri Method, bringing advanced scientific concepts to life for young learners through hands-on learning.

Teaching

Tami’s teaching journey began at age 13 as a gymnastics coach, leading students to national recognition and earning her the title of Coach of the Year. At UC San Diego, she received the Excellence in Teaching award for her teaching in Cellular Biology and Human Physiology. A breakthrough came with a second-grade learning pod, where her curriculum propelled students beyond their grade level—an achievement that inspired the Yuri Method.
